Leó Asztalos is a final-year medical student at the University of Szeged. During his studies he was part of Szeged Scientist Academy’s scholarship programme. During his scholarship he participated in the work of the Systems Immunology Research Group at the Department of Dermatology and Allergology in Szeged for four years. The main topics of the research were antitumor immunity and infectious diseases. His contribution to the work resulted in co-authorship in two scientific publications, one published in Nature Cancer and the other in PNAS. For two years he also worked as a teacher's assistant at the Department of Physiology in Szeged. In 2021 he received funding from the Hungarian Startup University Program for his startup named BetterDose. Since then he is the CEO of the startup and with his team of four they aim to develop a medtech solution that helps chronically ill people in managing their medication.
