Péter Vereckei, MD, graduated from the University of Medicine in Debrecen in 2000 and later continued his education in the field of health economics and health policy at Eötvös Loránd University. After graduating, he began a 20-year career in the pharmaceutical industry working for the Hungarian subsidiary of Pfizer, starting as a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep before taking an executive position in January 2014. From 2016, he has been a member of the board of Innovative Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, and from 2018 to February 2020, he was the president of the association. An important milestone in his professional career was the establishment of the National Pharmaceutical Identification Organization, implemented with the full cooperation of the pharmaceutical industry, in which he actively participated and was a member of the organization's board.
