Balázs Sinkovits

Sinkovits Balázs has over two decades of experience in pharmaceutical reimbursement. He began his career as a research associate at the Technology Assessment Office, established in 2004, where he helped define and implement the health economics principles underpinning the inclusion of medicines in public funding.
He later contributed to this process from the industry side, focusing on developing pricing and reimbursement models aligned with cost-effectiveness for a pharmaceutical companies. Since 2011, he has been working at AstraZeneca as Head of Government Affairs and Market Access. Under his leadership, the department has secured reimbursement for numerous medicines across a wide range of indications, primarily in oncology, diabetology, pulmonology, cardiology,
nephrology, and rare diseases.
For nearly a decade, he supported the work of the Hungarian Health Economics Association (META) as a board member. In the context of pharmaceutical reimbursement, he considers evidence-based medicine and decision-making, as well as value-based pricing and financing, to be the most important guiding principles.
