Sean R. Smith is a purpose-driven pharmaceutical and biotech leader with over 23 years of extensive global biopharma leadership experience. As Managing Director at MSD Hungary since February 2025, he continues MSD’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with stakeholders to support efforts related to prevention, screening, innovative treatment, and healthcare digitalisation in Hungary. 

Sean communicates effectively in both business and scientific contexts. Earlier, as CEO of ImmunOs Therapeutics AG, Sean guided the company from discovery through clinical stages, enhancing corporate strategy and culture. During his previous tenure with Merck & Co., he held pivotal roles both in Europe and the United States. His career encompasses expertise in brand marketing, business development, and external partnerships.

He strongly advocates for MSD’s unparalleled investment into clinical research and the utilisation of real-world evidence to further optimize patient outcomes.
