dr. Zoltán Kökény, MD

Dr. Zoltán Kökény graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine at Semmelweis University in 1990 and obtained his board certification in general surgery in 1994. In 2013, he earned a specialist degree in healthcare management and strategy.

Alongside his clinical practice, from 2011 he served as Medical Director of the Ráckeve Outpatient Clinic, and later became Deputy Medical Director of the Jahn Ferenc South-Pest Hospital and Outpatient Centre. From October 2021, he worked as Deputy Medical Director at the South-Pest Centre Hospital – National Institute of Hematology and Infectology, from where he was temporarily assigned in the summer of 2023 to the Budapest Péterfy Sándor Street Hospital – Outpatient Clinic, overseen by the same institution, as Medical Director. Since November 2023, he has been the Director General of the Budapest Péterfy Sándor Street Hospital – Outpatient Clinic.

As a surgeon, he spent nearly two years working in the United Kingdom and Scotland. He is a specialist in the treatment of chronic wounds and serves as the Hungarian member of the Eastern Europe Diabetic Foot Ulcer Advisory Board. He was previously a member of the Scientific Review Panel of the European Wound Management Association Journal.
