Dr. Csaba László Földesi is a specialist in internal medicine and cardiology with extensive expertise in invasive electrophysiology and cardiac pacing. Since 2008, he has served as Head of the Department of Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology at the Gottsegen National Cardiovascular Center in Budapest. Since 2012, he has also been Head of the Department of Electrophysiology at Hetényi Géza County Hospital in Szolnok.
He graduated summa cum laude from the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical University in 1996. He obtained board certification in internal medicine in 2001 and in cardiology in 2003, both with excellent results. He received Hungarian accreditation in invasive electrophysiology in 2007 and European Heart Rhythm Association accreditation in interventional cardiac pacing in 2012. An important stage of his international training was a ten-month European Community Marie Curie Host Fellowship at the Department of Cardiology of San Filippo Neri Hospital in Rome between 2001 and 2002.
His main clinical interests include the diagnosis and interventional treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, catheter ablation, and pacemaker, ICD and CRT therapy. He has extensive experience gained through several thousand electrophysiological procedures and cardiac device implantations. He also serves as an international proctor and consultant for Medtronic Inc.
Dr. Földesi is actively involved in scientific research and medical education. He has authored 56 peer-reviewed publications and one book chapter, with a cumulative impact factor of 184.45. He has participated as site principal investigator in numerous international clinical trials and is also a Steering Committee member and site principal investigator of the CRYO AF Global Registry.
He is a member of the Hungarian Society of Cardiology and has served as President of its Working Group on Cardiac Arrhythmias and Pacing since 2022. Since 2020, he has been a Board Member of the European Heart Rhythm Association Certification Committee, and since 2022 he has been a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC).
