Dr. Tamás Dávid is a seasoned leader in healthcare and pharmaceutical policy, with extensive experience across government, global biopharma, and industry associations. He currently serves as Deputy Director-General at the National Health Insurance Fund of Hungary, where he drives strategic initiatives to strengthen healthcare financing and improve nationwide access to care.
He began his career at the National Health Insurance Fund in 2000, gaining deep expertise in pharmaceutical policy, reimbursement systems, and public healthcare governance. This early foundation shaped his long-standing commitment to advancing health systems and ensuring equitable patient access. Tamás later held key roles at Sanofi and Pfizer, where he led commercial, market access, and corporate affairs strategies across multiple therapeutic areas. He then joined Sobi – Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB (publ), serving in senior global leadership roles, including Global Access Policy Strategy & Government Affairs Director, where he developed international strategies to expand access to rare disease therapies. As Country Manager for Hungary, he oversaw operations, market access, and stakeholder engagement, and during this time he also served as Chair of the Board at the Association of Innovative Pharmaceutical Manufacturers.
He holds a medical degree from the University of Debrecen and an MBA from Central European University, complemented by several postgraduate qualifications in economics, health services management, political advisory, and clinical and industrial drug development.
