Dr. Zsolt Bagyura, MD, PhD

Zsolt István Bagyura PhD, medical doctor, associate professor. Operational leader of the Budakalász Study, author of several epidemiological publications. He has been involved in structured data collection and analysis for more than 15 years, and is the author of several international publications on the subject. He has extensive IT experience, having led or participated in the developments of medical IT and hospital IT systems at Asseco, GE Healthcare and T-systems as an expert. He is the founder of the Semmelweis University Clinical Data Service Institute. The institute aims to support the secondary utilization of clinical data within the university and cooperation with external organizations. Under his leadership, the standardized Clinical Data Warehouse of Semmelweis University was established. During the development of the data warehouse, he participated in the SNOMED mapping of the Hungarian diagnosis, procedures and related code systems, and in the introduction of the OMOP standard in Hungary. He has been the founder and head of the Hungarian branch of the international organization OHDSI since 2024. His current research area is the standardization of medical clinical data (real-word data) and the processing and interpretation of text data using artificial intelligence (large language models).
